There are so many sessions at the largest annual Oracle conference in the world. And it’s crazy how many cloud sessions there are – I heard that over half of the sessions this year are cloud-related. As promised, I’ve included a list of educational sessions below for the EPM/EPM Cloud folks to consider (excuse any typos – I was typing fast!).

Believe it or not, this is not a full, comprehensive list. And there are some interesting conclusions that could be drawn from the list. However, it’s hard to know if they mean anything or are pure coincidence. My personal observations:

• If you stick around in rooms Moscone 3018 and 3020 Mon-Thurs you’ll catch a good majority of the EPM/EPM Cloud sessions
• Every EPM Cloud product (released or to be released) has at least one session
• There aren’t a lot of sessions regarding the yet-to-be-released EPM Cloud tools: PCMCS (Profitability and Cost Management Cloud Service) – which has been recently added to Oracle’s cloud website, TRCS (Tax Reporting Cloud Service), and DMCS (Dimension Management Cloud Service)
• However, Essbase Cloud has a ton of sessions. Does this mean that a release is finally in the very near future? Also note that Essbase Cloud is not being referred to as “EssCS” anymore, but “Essbase Cloud Service”.
• There are only 3 EPM Cloud hands-on lab sessions. They are for Planning Cloud, FCCS, and EPRCS. There aren’t any for Essbase Cloud, ARCS, BICS, DVCS, etc. (that I could find)
• There are a few sessions about the integration of Oracle ERP and Oracle EPM. This is in line with the recent Oracle Sales organizational changes and I am willing to bet that these types of sessions will continue to grow in number in the future.
• There are a number of Customer Presents panels, although not all EPM Cloud solutions are directly represented (namely ARCS, BICS, and DVCS). Note that I wouldn’t read much into this – there is opportunity for these products to be mentioned in some of the other sessions. This is a good strategy for Oracle – it shows how each of the EPM Cloud products has been successful. And these are panels, which means that questions will be allowed throughout. This shows confidence in Oracle’s EPM Cloud solutions.
• There are a handful of sessions covering hybrid environments: mixed on-prem and Cloud solutions. To me, this demonstrates that some on-prem customers are finding Cloud enticing enough to go the hybrid route.
• There are a few executive-focused sessions which makes me curious about the attendee make up here. I hope to attend at least one of these sessions.
